Boniva® injections are prescribed for the treatment of osteoperosis in women after menopause. Boniva® injection maintains and builds bone density to help reduce fractures.
Boniva® injections are an alternative for patients who have difficulty with oral dosing restrictions. With Boniva® injection, you don't have to worry about oral dosing requirements of certain osteoperosis medicines. Your physician may prescribe Boniva® injection for the following reasons: 1. Having difficulty swallowing 2. Forget to take your oral osteoperosis medicine 3. Cannot sit or stand for 30-60 minutes 4. Are taking many other pills 5. Do not want to fast (postpone food or drink)
Boniva® injections are given intravenously over 15-30 seconds every three months.
Rheumatology Specialty Center performs the infusion service in all of our Offices. We offer private and semi-private rooms with closed circuit television for viewing available movies. We also infuse other medications in our facilities depending on the medication ordered by our Physicians, and the needs of our patients.
